Children should not take Spiriva HandiHaler. In addition, Spiriva Respimat is prescribed to adults and kids who are at least 6 years old to stop asthma attacks. Spiriva is a bronchodilator that relaxes muscles in the airways and increases air flow to the lungs. In adults with COPD, which includes bronchitis and emphysema, Spiriva is used to prevent bronchospasm (the narrowing of the lungs' airways).


Carefully adhere to the instructions on your prescription label. Take Spiriva exactly as prescribed. The suggested dosage of Spiriva is two HandiHaler inhalations of the powder from one Spiriva capsule, once daily.

Missed dose

Use no more than twice every 24 hours. Do not use two doses at one time. Before you completely run out of medication, have your prescription filled. Use the medicine as soon as you can, but skip the missed dose if it is almost time for your next dose.

Keep a list of your current medications on hand to show your doctor and pharmacist whenever you receive a new prescription. Know the medications you take. The effectiveness of Spiriva may be impacted by some of your other medications or dietary supplements. Spiriva is an anticholinergic drug. Stop using Spiriva and make an urgent phone call to your doctor if you experience any of these symptoms. If you experience these symptoms, you should exercise caution when performing tasks like operating a machine or driving a car. Spiriva can cause dizziness and blurred vision. Spiriva can cause serious side effects, including: Allergic reaction. Sudden narrowing and blockage of the airways into the lungs (bronchospasm). If you experience any of these signs of an allergic reaction, stop taking Spiriva immediately and contact your doctor or go to the nearest hospital emergency room. Symptoms of an allergic reaction may also include: raised red patches on your skin (hives); itchy rash; swelling of the lips, tongue, or throat that may make breathing or swallowing difficult. Eye drops alone may not be effective in treating the symptoms of acute narrow-angle glaucoma, which also include eye pain, blurred vision, and seeing colored or haloed images. Painful urination is one of the signs of a blocked bladder and/or an enlarged prostate. Your eye's pupil may enlarge (dilate) and your vision may become hazy.

Trial A was a randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled, active-controlled, cross-over trial including Tudorza Pressair doses of 400mcg, 200mcg and 100mcg twice daily, formoteroal active control, and placebo. Most of the patients affected by COPD have a blend of both forms of the disease. Tudorza is administered through the Pressair inhaler containing a dry powder formulation of aclidinium bromide which is used for oral inhalation.
