Description

Adults and children who are at least 2 years old take it in conjunction with other medications. It reduces the nerve impulses that trigger pain and seizure activity. Antiepileptic or anticonvulsant medication is thaleptal. Adults and kids who are at least 4 years old take trileptal as a single medication. To treat partial seizures, trileptal may be used either on its own or in combination with other drugs.

Dosage

Tell your doctor and pharmacist about every product you use, including prescription, over-the-counter, and herbal products. The dosage for kids is also determined by weight. Do not stop taking this medication without consulting your doctor. Observe your doctor's instructions exactly. Ask your physician or pharmacist if you have any questions. Some conditions (such as seizures) may become worse when this drug is suddenly stopped. As prescribed by your doctor, typically twice daily, take this medication by mouth with or without food. If your seizure disorder worsens, let your doctor know. Your medical history, treatment response, and any additional medications you may be taking will all factor into the dosage. Take it at the same times every day to help you remember. Your doctor might advise you to begin taking this medication at a low dose and gradually increase it in order to lower your risk of experiencing side effects. To reap the greatest benefits from this medication, take it frequently. Perhaps you should gradually cut back on your dosage.

Missed dose

Taking two doses at once is not advised. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and take the medication as soon as you can.

Overdose

Storage
