Description

Chewable tablets need to be gnawed on or crushed before being ingested. Clinical trials were done with the chewable tablets or suspension, and the chewable tablets or suspension resulted in better blood levels of Suprax than the tablet when given at the same dose. Never take two Suprax doses at once. Suprax suspension or chewable tablet forms should be used to treat ear infections. Take your next dose at the scheduled time if it is almost time for the next one. If you miss a dose, don't take it. If you miss a dose, take the missed dose as soon as you remember. Dosage

Suprax dosage for kids who weigh less than 44 kg or are younger than 12 years old is 8 mg/kg once daily or 4 mg/kg twice daily. The recommended dose for Suprax in adults is 400 mg once daily or divided into two doses (200 mg each dose). Missed dose

Contraindications

Of course the issue is that they just keep making new cephalosporins and each generation is a little bit different in terms of its spectrum and whether it’s better at fighting Gram positive or Gram negative bacteria. Cephalosporins work much like penicillins, inhibiting peptidoglycan cell wall synthesis in bacteria (remember those sites of action and mechanisms?) Generally the newer the generation, the more broad spectrum and less Gram positive coverage.
