Contraindications

Patients receiving corticosteroid therapy have been known to develop Kaposi's sarcoma, a specific type of cancer. Medrol may make you feel faint. Medrol may cause holes in the lining of the stomach or intestines, which can result in perforation of the digestive tract. In case of reactivation of your tuberculosis, let your doctor know. Hypersensitivity reaction: Medrol may cause an allergic reaction. These are just a few of the serious side effects that have been linked to it. Steroid withdrawal: To avoid withdrawal side effects, do not stop taking Medrol suddenly. Clinical remission might occur after stopping its use. Hives, trouble breathing or swallowing, swelling, rash, and itching are signs of an allergic reaction. Cardiac and renal issues: Medrol can raise blood pressure, lead to water and sodium retention, and increase potassium and calcium excretion. Tell your doctor if you have a history of heart or kidney disease. Inform your doctor if you have ever experienced ulcers or any other digestive system issues.
