(Also see the section on Notes.) Rarely does this medication cause an extremely severe allergic reaction. It's possible to experience dry mouth, constipation, drowsiness, nausea, fatigue, weight gain, and tiredness. Talk to your doctor about the advantages and disadvantages of the proposed course of treatment. Falls can become more likely if you feel lightheaded or dizzy. When using this medication for the first time or increasing your dosage, you may experience dizziness or lightheadedness. For females, this rise in prolactin may cause unwelcome breast milk, missed or skipped periods, or trouble getting pregnant. Males may experience a decline in sex prowess, sperm production problems, or enlarged breasts as a result. If you experience any of the following symptoms, seek immediate medical attention: fever, severe fatigue, severe confusion, muscle pain, stiffness, or weakness; sweating; a fast or irregular heartbeat; dark urine; or indications of kidney disease (such as a change in the amount of urine). If you experience any extremely serious side effects, such as fainting, a seizure, or severe dizziness, seek medical attention right away. When getting out of a sitting or lying down position, move slowly. But if you experience any serious allergic reaction symptoms, such as fever, swollen lymph nodes, rash, itching or swelling (especially of the face, tongue, or throat), extreme dizziness, or difficulty breathing, seek medical attention right away. If any of these effects persist or worsen, tell your doctor promptly. If this occurs, stop using this drug and get medical help right away, or permanent problems could occur. If you already have diabetes, check your blood sugar as directed on a regular basis and let your doctor know the results. Tell your doctor right away if you experience any of these symptoms.
