Interactions
If you are taking any of the following medications, talk to your doctor before taking Oxetin: fentanyl, tricyclic antidepressants (imipramine), sedative diazepam, lithium (for mania and depression), amino acid tryptophan (for depression), perphenazine, levomepromazine, olanzapine, tolbutamide, cimetidine (for ulcers), non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs John's Wort, flecainide, propafenone, verapamil, diltiazem, medications to control heart rate and rhythm, ketoconazole, itraconazole, posaconazole, voriconazole, fluconazole, medications to treat fungal infections, and medications to prevent nausea and vomiting following surgery or chemotherapy (aprepitant).
Contraindications
Do not drive or operate machinery while treatment with Oxetin. Do not take Oxetin if you have or have previously had thoughts of harming or killing yourself. If you have serotonin syndrome, low sodium levels in your blood, liver disease, angle-closure glaucoma, or a family history of it, you should not take oxetin. It can only be used to treat children and adolescents aged 8-18 years old with obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD). Oxetin is not recommended for use if you are pregnant, likely to become pregnant or are breastfeeding until your doctor decides if this medication is right for you. Only adults (those who are older than 18) may use oxetin.
