Description

Taking two Naprosyn doses at once is not advised. Skip the missed dose if it is almost time for the next one, and take your next dose as scheduled. If you are taking Naprosyn on a regular basis, you should take it at the same time(s) every day. Take the missed dose right away if you forget to do so. Naprosyn is available as a regular tablet, an enteric coated tablet (delayed release tablet), an extended-release (long-acting tablet), and an oral suspension (liquid). As directed, take Naprosyn as directed. The enteric-coated tablet and extended release tablets should not be crushed or chewed. Taken once daily on average, extended-release tablets. For gout, the tablets and suspension are typically taken every 8 hours, and for pain, every 6 to 8 hours as needed. For arthritis, tablets, enteric-coated tablets, and suspension are typically taken twice daily.

Dosage

Age, symptom and pain intensity, and dosage all may change. Carefully adhere to the instructions on your prescription label. Additionally, if switching from a tablet to a suspension, a different dose might be required because different forms aren't always equivalent. Follow your doctor's instructions for taking Naprosyn exactly. The maximum recommended daily dose of Naprosyn is 1500 mg in adults. Naprosyn dosage ranges typically range from 250 to 500 twice daily.

Missed dose

Do not double-up on your medication to make up for a missed dose. Use the missed dose as soon as you remember if you are on a schedule. You might not be on a dosing schedule because Naprosyn is occasionally taken only as needed. If your next scheduled dose is approaching, skip the missed dose.
