Contact the FDA at 1-800-FDA-1088 to report side effects. headache, dizziness, drowsiness, weakness; gas, indigestion, appetite loss; nausea, vomiting; pain in the muscles or joints; rash; itching; or temporary hair loss. severe stomach pain, diarrhea that is watery or bloody (even if it occurs months after your last dose); vision problems; fever, chills, cough, chest pain, trouble breathing; numbness, tingling, or burning pain in your hands or feet; severe pain behind your eyes; pale skin, weakness; joint pain or swelling with fever, swollen glands, and muscle aches; pain, redness, or swelling in your lower jaw; increased pressure inside the skull--severe headaches, ringing in your ears, dizziness, nausea, vision problems, pain behind your eyes; or signs of liver or pancreas problems--upper stomach pain (that may spread to your back), nausea or vomiting, dark urine, yellowing of the skin or eyes.
Drug interactions with macrodontin (more information) Other medications, including prescription and OTC drugs, vitamins, and herbal products, could interact with Macrodantin. In addition to any new or discontinued medications, make sure your doctor is aware of all of your current medications.
Until you know how Macrodantin affects you, avoid operating heavy machinery or driving. Do not use Macrodantin if you have: a history of cholestatic jaundice or hepatic dysfunction linked to Macrodantin; a known hypersensitivity or allergy to Macrodantin or any of its ingredients; a significant impairment of renal function in pregnant patients at term (38-42 weeks gestation) as well as during labor and delivery. Lung problems (pulmonary hypersensitivity reactions) are just a few of the serious side effects associated with macrodantin that have been reported.
