Side effects
Call your doctor right away if you experience any of the following symptoms and stop taking loratadine: headache dry mouth nosebleed sore throat mouth sores difficulty falling or staying asleep nervousness weakness stomach pain diarrhea red or itchy eyes rash hives itching swelling of the eyes, face, lips, tongue, throat, hands, arms, feet, ankles, or lower legs hoarseness difficulty breathing or swallowing wheezing A side effect of loratadine could be. Some side effects may be serious.
Interactions
Loratadine tablets are recommended for use in children older than 2 years old to treat the symptoms of seasonal allergic rhinitis and allergic skin conditions like urticaria and nettle rash. Sneezing, nasal discharge, itching, ocular itching, and burning are also among the allergic rhinitis symptoms that it effectively treats. Also recommended for idiopathic urticaria is the loratadine tablet. The symptoms of seasonal allergic rhinitis, perennial allergic rhinitis, and skin allergies, including chronic urticaria, can be quickly and effectively relieved by loratadine tablets. After oral administration, nasal and ocular signs and symptoms are quickly relieved.
Contraindications
Mention any allergy and cold medications you may be taking, let your doctor know if you have or have ever had asthma, kidney or liver disease, are pregnant, plan to become pregnant, or are nursing. Inform your doctor and pharmacist if you have any medication allergies or if you have any other allergies before taking loratadine. Check the package label for a list of the ingredients. tell your doctor and pharmacist what prescription and nonprescription medications, vitamins, nutritional supplements and herbal products you are taking or plan to take. Call your doctor if you become pregnant while taking loratadine. If you have phenylketonuria (PKU), an inherited condition that requires adherence to a special diet in order to prevent brain damage that could result in severe intellectual disability, you should be aware that some brands of the orally disintegrating tablets may contain aspartame, which converts to phenylalanine.
